RUMS Tennis is a sports club for medical students interested in tennis regardless of their ability; we pride ourselves on providing a friendly and inclusive atmosphere for avid tennis players and complete beginners alike. We have a flourishing social community, with events throughout the year including club meals, social tours, and visits to some of the biggest tennis competitions in the world. We offer a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere and welcome new members from any year to join us if not on the court then at our sportsnights!
We offer training sessions for all abilities; from intense weekly indoor training for members of our squad, to development sessions for players looking to make the jump up to competitive tennis, to laid-back social sessions with the support of professional coaches.
Our squad consists of two men’s teams and one’s women’s team, which all compete in BUCS competitions, and who mix on occasions to play some United Hospitals (UH) fixtures. RUMS Tennis are the current holders of the United Hospitals League Cup in men’s doubles, a historic competition dating back to 1887, the second oldest in the world.
